Philadelphia Eagles receiver, Darnerien McCants has many talents off and on the field. The silky smooth R&B singer is featured on the Mixed CD, TOE JAM BEATS: Hittin' It Like It's Hot! And he will be performing his hit single LONELY at the Release Party for the CD on Friday, May 18th at 8pm at the Milton N. Sparks Hall, located at 80-82 West 126th Street, NYC, directly across the street from Sylvia's Restaurant. Tickets are $15, $20 & $30 for VIP, which includes a CD. The showcase will feature 9 singers that are featured on the Mixed CD. For reservations call 646-623-3488 or get them online at www.therianttheatre.com. In addition, McCants, who has performed on the Seagram's Gin Concert Tour and the Superbowl 2006 Gospel Explosion, recently hosted the UPN show Urban Idol, which will air in the fall. Ebony Magazine listed him as one of the Most Eligible Bachelors for 2006 and he was featured in the 2006 Jet Male Calendar. Also featured on the CD is R&B singer Hassan Farrow, whose bluesy ballad I THOUGHT YOU CARED FOR ME and vocal prowess has earned him flattery comparisons to Marvin Gaye and Peobo Bryson. Born in Spain and raised in the United States on both coasts, this sultry singer has worked with producers from Sony and Jive Records since he was a teenager. Ed Fletcher (producer/songwriter/author) and lyricist of Grandmaster Flash's hit The Message, says of Farrow, "This young man has it. When he sings you hear someone much older than his years. Today, not many male vocalists offer the depth and sensitivity of Hassan. His vocal character is distinct." Lina Day, who sounds like a young Mariah Carey with her song NIGHT AND DAY, is the only child of Russian pop sensation Anka and renowned abstract artist Ruslan Gudiev, and has been singing in her mother's shows and videos since she was a child. Other artists on the CD include: Antoine (R&B), Christina (Pop), Cielo Deville (R&B), J-Notes (Reggae & Neo Soul), SnuggS (Hip-Hop) and B. East (Hip-Hop), and Richard D. Applewhite (Jazz). B. East Van Dirk Fisher, producer of TOE JAM BEATS, is very excited about the CD and says it has some of the hottest, freshest voices around that are sure to set the music world on fire! This compilation CD will make you wanna dance, slow jam, and be-bop. Jam the funky beats of B. East with his hip hop rap REAP PERCUSSIONS. You'll have to stop and take notice when SnuggS raps about his life in TRIALS and then just chill and go with the flow to the smooth mellow sounds of Richard D. Applewhite's instrumental jazz number DO THE DAMN THING. For interviews with the artists or press tickets call 646-623-3488.
